Last Friday, 4th of July, my friend Chris and I drove to New York City to see my daughter Margaret and her boyfriend Larry and also see a New York Yankees ballgame. When we got there my daughter had a surprise for us. She got two more tickets to the Yankees-Red Sox game that afternoon. The two tickets cost $190 each. The seats weren't bad, right behind the Boston dugout on the third base side. You gonna love the city. When a slow roller wasn't handled by Alex Rodriquez, a fan yells out, "Lenny Kravitz could have picked that one up!" The game also featured one of the strangest plays ever. Left fielder Johnny Damon for the Yankees nearly caught a home run play only to have it pop out of his glove and stay on top on the outfield wall for a few seconds until it dropped back on the playing field. The game was delayed for over an hour by rain and when it resumed we got seats behind the Yankees dugout, seeing ballplayers very close up. The game should have ended on a great diving catch by Red Sox oufielder Coco Crisp(I love that name) but the umps called no catch. After a diner of wings, ribs and beer we watched a huge firewoeks display. A very great 4th of July.
