The documents are about 88 army corps not 12th SS div wich 363. Volks-Grenadier-Division was part of.
I will translate some captions in the documents about Opheusden later this week.
I Also will take some more time to search for more about Opheusden.
The document with the flooding plan for December is ( if I’m correct)the area west of Opheusden

3rd Document:

Daily Message for 19.11.44

a) After movement of the corps front there are still troop movements.(I stink allied troop movements are meant here).
No signs off intentions for strong enemy attack.
Count on pushing back battalion strong attack over flooded area and frontline area Waal.Nederrijn.

I found no further text off interest to translate on this Document.

Map:

Its archived for date December 9.

Text upper right side on the map say’s:
Sketch flood area’s  West of dam Ochten.

Peter.

Peter, Thanks for the German documents. In November, 1944, the
whole area of the Island was flooded by the Germans after they
blew up a d**e. Why they didn't do this earlier was beyond me.
There is that funny story in Don's book "The Road to Arnhem"
where a Observation Post was situated in a flooded home. It was
night and the soldiers were feeling themselves around in the dark
when they found what they thought was a sofa. Well they were off duty and fall
into a deep sleep. In the morning they awake and discover in the light they
were actually sitting on a dead goat.

Yes, I remember reading that bit in his book.
I have read all his books and purchased my first book of Don on an local flee market for military stuff.
It was an old version had a white cover and on it was written Currahee.
I never heard of Donald Burgett before.
When it came to me he had written more books I decided to read them all.
By doing this I discovered I started off reading Don’s books with his first book Currahee.
When I borrowed the Dutch translation off the book D-Day and The Road to Arnhem from a friend I discovered that the D-Day part is actually the book Currahee so here you can buy 2 books in one.
I am under the impression that Currahee is more extensively written though as the Dutch version off the 2 in 1 book.
Peter.
