Pointe Du Hoc III

Using the few hooks that made the attachment and the ladders from a London fire department, the Rangers overcome all but one of the German positions, a machine gun firing from the east. Since the MG was protected by open ground, the Rangers communicated with the destroyer USS Satterlee and her 5-inch guns blasted the nest away. Assigned casemates holding the cannon, the Rangers reach the sites only to discover that telephone poles were there instead of artillery pieces! Undaunted, the Rangers move inland in search of the cannon. They discover they are in a massive German fort and tire marks from the casemates lead inland.
